The 9th Annual Black History Month Observance:

The Office of the President, Chicago Area AFRAM and SEIU Local 1 Presents:

"Focus on Haiti"

The format of this year’s presentation is a national webinar.  The webinar presentation is scheduled for Friday, February 26^th at 6:30 p.m., Central Standard Time.  AFRAM members and other participants in all regions of the country will meet at local union offices, community centers and at home via internet for this webinar event.

 The program will originate at Local 1 in Chicago with State Senator Kwame Raoul of the 13^th District of Illinois, (President Obama’s former seat) who is of Haitian descent, as the keynote speaker.  Senator Raoul will speak personally about his efforts and ways we can assist the people of Haiti.

 Imam Ahmed-Rufai Misbahudeen, Chairman of the Social Science Department and Professor of History at Harold Washington College of Chicago, will discuss the history of Haiti.  All interested parties can join the webinar at https://seiulocal1.megameeting.com
